Unify behind the team; sure.  This players and the staff didn't do what Freeze did.

But you expect me to "defend" this guy?  Really?  That's the standard here.  I have to defend cheating, infidelity, lying, misuse of government property, hookers and having so little maturity he doesn't understand the risk he runs by engaging in a conversion of legal adversaries of his institution when that is not his role; and can only further damage, damaged goods; or his institution...if I don't defend this, then I am divisive?   Seriously dude....

I can't "forgive" Freeze;  that's not my place as he didn't do anything to me.  That's for his family.  It looks like they have.  Fine. I am glad he was making over $4m a year at Liberty and was happy there apparently.  He should be very thankful he had that gig and his family stuck by him.  That doesn't mean I need to feel some compunction to hire the guy or have him associate with the Auburn athletic program.  Why would I wish him on some other parents kids when I wouldn't want him hanging around my own...he's not a role model.

What really chaps my ass is we've been lied to.  This whole thing around we're going big game hunting was BS.  He said we'd been talking to him for weeks.  There was no search.  Cohen is no different than the last cast of clown administrators.  You don't conduct a thorough search of all the available talent and land here.

We're going to hear about this every time Auburn is mentioned on every sports network in perpetuity....we're playing the opening game next year and the 1st thing you will hear from the commentators is not; "it's a new day on the plains"...it will be all about Auburn's disgraced head coach.....embroiled in sex assault case against the university...hookers...scandal...NCAA violations...they'll have a field day with it.  Get used to it.  It ain't going away just because it makes some of you uncomfortable.

I'm not going to defend this.

Why is it so easy to miss the actual point here? I'm not asking you to defend the guy because you clearly have your mind made up that he's awful. No one is asking ANYBODY to defend his use of hookers. And yet that made up point is what you get upset about. Really? You also don't know a thing about the guy, only what you've read on the internet about him. Yeah, let's choose to hate a guy and not be swayed in said hate based on that. Freakin brilliant. I don't care whether you ever forgive him or would have him around your kids or whatever. I'll say it real slow for you so we're on the same page: what he did with the hookers was awful, and that's in the past. He lost a high profile SEC job because of it. What he did by DMing that girl was stupid. It does not disqualify him from being a football coach. Once again, I'm not asking you to defend his use of prostitutes. Are we clear on this now? Good grief, dude.

This is probably the reason you “are not” the AD at AU. This is the real world and D1 big time football. Multimillion dollar business. It takes big folks like Cohen to actually solve problems instead of filling wish list for people who show up at a ballgame a time or two. These young players work their butts off and are entitled to be given a chance to be successful.   🤔😠

When someone owns their mistake and apologizes for it and spends the next 4 years doing things right then it’s time to move in because we have all sone things we shouldn’t have. Freeze paid for his mistakes and his wife has forgiven him. Nothing happened at LU that involved Freeze . The woman complaining is complaining that Freeze spoke up for the AD at liberty and said He was a good guy. Nothing wrong with that. I am not downing the young lady but You can’t blame Hugh for standing up for a friend .

THANK YOU. (Although he still shouldn't have messaged her).

Your actual words...defend...

That I can live with. I think the more we learn about him, the easier it will be to defend though

Context is your friend. There’s a difference between asking you to personally defend him, and the university being able to defend itself from lies and exaggerations about him.

Dude, I'm not the AD at Auburn because I made a lot more money running global businesses for 30 years...and everyone of them bigger than the Auburn athletic and infrastructure budget. Try again.

I haven't heard any lies...everything being said about the guy is true.  Hookers, true.  Misuse of business/government property, true.  Lying about it, true.  NCAA cheating, true. Infidelity, true.  Being too damn stupid to know when not to take the bait from someone suing your institution, true....spending time trying to defend the indefensible is a s***ty use of Auburn PR when it wasn't necessary.

Okay. Let me break this down grammatically for you then. "Learn" is a verb in this sentence. What is the object? Nooo...it's not hookers...Try again. Nooo...it's not DMing someone. Try one more time. That's right! It's "him"! So in that case what do you think the phrase "the easier it will be to defend" refers to? Nooo....it's not hookers...Try again. Nooo... it's not DMing someone. Try one more time. That's right! It's hiring Hugh Freeze and not his use of hookers or Twitter habits! Because it turns out very few people actually agree with married men using prostitutes, and even fewer expect someone to defend it! Reading comprehension is fun!

The girl said she never tagged him(lie). People are saying that he tried to silence her( the DMs show no evidence of that) Posts on this board that have since been taken down accused him of covering up for a player of his that was the rapist (lie). He was accused of hiring escorts for underage recruits(lie).

We don't accept facts here, Sir. Otherwise we would have to admit we were wrong about a man we personally know nothing about, and then we'd have to stop mindlessly parroting the same thing over and over

If I were her lawyer, I could easily make the case that the highest paid employee of Liberty DM'ing me telling me I shouldn't be saying these things is an act of intimidation by him on behalf of Liberty.  He's a representative of the university.  He's minimally guilty of stupidity...big league stupidity.    This type of thing would have gotten one my leaders removed.  I don't know a corporate executive that would touch this guy.  You can't claim to have any set of standards when you hire a guy with this background.

There's a standard used in the corporate world and in auditing that tests if the executive leadership is setting the right tone for the organization. It's even written into the Sarbane-Oxley laws.  It's part of the executive teams evaluation in audits and when signing the quarterly/annual company reports.  I don't think the Auburn leadership team could pass that evaluation.

Then why hasn’t any lawyer done that? It seems like she would be more than willing to go along with it, and lawyers aren’t usually in the habit of letting easy-to-win cases fall to the side. The facts aren’t on your side here, champ.

Sure...you keep thinking that.  If you defend hiring Freeze then you excuse his behaviors.  You can't separate the two.

I’m just glad that I saw japantiger was in the premium donor club before I decided to waste my money. Doesn’t look like things are any better there.

It is actually a lot better my friend. I can truly speak to that. You have some knuckleheads but more so than not, it is a lot more objective.

Thanks. I’ve never felt the need to put so many of my fellow Auburn fans on ignore before. Just a little depressing.

You totally don't, because that's not rational or logical. But you do you.

So, if you had not made "a lot more money running global businesses for 30 years", you would have been the AD at Auburn?  Your words, not mine. I'm calling BS on that and maybe your entire self aggrandizing statement.  WDE

Oh wow....you've totally convinced me with the power of your argument....yellow font.

You know, it's a message board where people come to express their opinion.  You probably shouldn't be shocked that many don't share yours ...

Exactly right. You actually know what you're talking about but that doesn't go over well with certain Freeze supporters.

So did the booster or boosters win this round of hiring??? I’m seriously asking

It was said from the beginning that Jimmy Rayne wanted Freeze. Apparently they are friends.
