Lacking votes to proceed, Speaker directs House to open impeachment inquiry.

McCarthy is lacking evidence of a crime.  McCarthy is lacking votes to open an inquiry.  McCarthy bypasses those things and simply directs a committee to open an inquiry.  He does this, all while claiming that his idol, who has been indicted by four grand juries, is wrongfully prosecuted.  This is political theater at its finest. This is short sighted and meant to appease the bat s*** crazy faction in the House.  Senate Republicans are already stating their lack of support.  Let the games begin.

I don't like McCarthy not having a vote to open an impeachment inquiry. It's not a good move.

Worth noting that Pelosi bypassed a vote for the impeachment inquiry against Trump in 2019.

She didn't open proceedings without any evidence of criminal conduct.  That is the difference.

LOL. I take it you aren't a fan? And it is Victor Davis Hansen. 

For the record, I mentioned previously I was opposed to political impeachments and leery of the precedent. VDH opines those guardrails have been destroyed. Hard to argue.
