Reminds me of the time I had to let someone go because they wouldn't stop watching porn on the office computer system.  He actually acted shocked that he was being fired after two prior warnings.  He asked, is it because I have a fetish for granny porn?  I said "no, it is because you are stupid enough to keep watching it after being told not to TWICE."  Idiots are everywhere.

Dumb stuff. Deserved to get fired and have no future career in politics after this.  And regardless of if the video was released to media to 'target' the guy politically or because of his sexual identity or whatever. he's 100% is at fault for doing inappropriate stuff like that in the first place.

I’m glad you posted it.  I did post something on the Brandon Stikes Again thread, but this is at least an acknowledgment that some on the left feel this is inappropriate.  It also indicates that maybe the adults aren’t in charge.

The proliferation of weird/rare fetishes as pornography use has become normalized at younger and younger years. Previously kids who were exposed to pornography a lot were mostly in abusive households. Millennials and now GenZ are the first generations that have been exposed to pornography regularly in stable good households.

The conclusion of it was something along the lines of non-abused kids who view pornography regularly from a young age get into more and more niche fetishes as they grow bored with normal sex.

Unfortunately, I used to work in IT for another Fortune 5 Company. I can tell you that porn, grindr, tindr, and Ashley Madison apps, were a 24-7-365 part of dealing with corporate cell phones. One employee had over $1500 worth of Data Overcharges on his Corp Cell. He was hot-spotting movies back several years ago off his corp cell. 

People were getting fired for it, YET THE IDIOTS STILL DID IT ANYWAY. They never even tapped the brakes. 

My old boss's kid got hired by the company and he of course got promoted WAY too fast. I was working on his corp cell when "Mr BBC Stinky Dick." face-timed and messaged him. 

Most of the maint dept had nude pics of the wife/gf on their phones as desktops. Saw "nicely groomed" female genitalia all day long. I almost cant name any of the middle-upper level plant managers that didn't have dick pics loaded on their corp cells.

LOL.  The guy was in his late 20s and had a gorgeous wife, but that is irrelevant.

Two things.... 1. Watching porn, regardless of the type or flavor, is prohibited at the office or on a company provided device.  2. Maintain a high level of productivity and get your work done, this includes assisting others as a team player and proactively offering your assistance to others when time permits.

If someone is getting their work done and being productive, I don't care if they check their personal email 10 times during the day or if they read and post to a message board.  Just be smart enough to realize that if they use work time to join a Q-Anon group, raise money for Hamas or something else equally as mind numbingly stupid while they are at work, it may get noticed and it can impact their employment.

There is no fairness involved. There are simply rules and those rules can be made, changed and enforced as ownership chooses.  The safe and sane thing to do is to refrain from any questionable behavior.  I'm not an unreasonable person and I don't like firing someone.  When I have had to go that route, it is usually after several warnings. Ignoring those warnings makes their dismissal as much about their lack of respect as it does the act itself.

One of the best assistants that I have ever worked with struggled with alcohol.  She never came to work impaired and to my knowledge she never drank while at the office.  I never considered letting her go because she could get more done in 3 days than anyone else could in 6.  She had enough experience that she knew what I needed before I needed it and usually already had it done.  That made her more valuable than most others in the office.  Had she ever came to work sloshed, things would have been different.  She respected everyone enough not to do that.  Showing respect gets someone a degree of respect in return.

The difference between support staff and myself is that I work to pay their salaries.  Without me, they have no work.  Without them, I simply do the work myself.

FWIW... I would never want someone to lose out on an opportunity.  I would hope that they would learn from their mistake and not encounter the problem at their future work place.
