Does anyone know if CBVG uses or has used any pass rush specialists in the past?

David Pollack says Hi.

I don't consider Pollack as a specialist but more of a takling machine. Am talking more of rush ends or 3rd and long guys.

If you're looking for a potential pass rush specialist, look no further than Davin Bellamy. Guy has freakish pass rushing potential. He's a long ways from being an every down DE right now, but is definitely worth adding as a pass rusher.

I hate to use a Bammer as an example but I have so much respect for the person he was that I will use him. Can he be a Derrick Thomas type of rush ehd/OLB that creates havok on QBs on passing downs?

EXACTLY what both myself and an FSU fan I talk to think he'd be. Think Bruce Irvin...not quite as athletic at this point tho.

I was unaware that Adams had any interest in Bama, thought it was a Clemson and Auburn battle for him, with UTk trying to get into the mix.  I wonder how much money Adams will find under his pillow at the hotel he is staying in.

UGA will also be a factor.

Clemson fans on Rivals think Adams is theirs.

why is that a roll eyes and most of us here think he's ours?  Isn't the same thing?

Because I hate Clemson and their fans.  AND they just got a commitment from Robert Nkemdiche.  :banghead:  Oh well, at least I'll get to enjoy curb stomping them in the Dome.

This guy really worries me, I really hope we get him. Now Bama and USC look like they are moving for him. Maybe these visits will help him realize how great Auburn is. I really think that our defensive play this fall will go a long way with him and others. I truely think that this program is headed for great things tho. In the last few years we've been in on, and gotten players that we used to not be able to get to. Get a visit from. All in all, I'm so thankful to be a lifelong fan of a great University and a great football program. It could be worse.... I could've been a Bama fan...ughh talk about hell.

Anyone know if CGC has ever reserved a  jersey number for a certain recruit before? Wondering since MA wants #7.

I don't believe that DLs can wear a single digit number. I think there are guidelines about numbering according to position.

Didn't a DL for South Crackalacky wear #6 last season?

Yep, Melvin Ingram was #6. USCe also had Jadeveon Clowney who is #7. There's been several others that have had single digits also. Off the top of my head: Marvin Austin wore #9 at UNC, Louis Nix wears #9 at ND, and Carlos Dunlap wore #8 at Florida

Apparently either there was a rules change or it was simply taboo back in the day because we sure see a lot more of it.

Wow. I hadn't researched this guy. 9 SEC offers! That's a telling indicator. Tall and fast rush ends can certainly be game changers.

I think that the fact that Auburn has a LOADED defensive line class this year with or without Adams or any other d-linemen speaks volumes as to how good the coaches are at finding and recruiting great talent no matter the location, (I mean New Jersey?!)  Congrats to the coaches on a job well done, and whats even better is the fact that we are not finished.  With that said, Lets pick up Adams, and possibly one more d-lineman and hold it down so no one else can snatch up what will be the dream team defensive class of Auburn university!

WDE!!! :believe::we::believe:

This is my first post on here, but I belive this is more a result of having a new DC who is well regarded...

I think we all agree that this does not hurt either. It has been said on many occasions that recruititng is affected more the second season after a NC rather than the 1st.

Both, I think are helping us, and after 3 straight years of top 10 recruiting classes, our talent level is getting very deep.

Welcome and post often!...Don't forget about about Coach Pelton. He has spent a year developing a relationship with these DLs before BVG got here. Those relationships are vitally important. The National Championship effect i speak of is being able to get the best players from places like New Jersey. Getting those players from that area is a bit less likely without the national championship stroke.

Oh I agree about the NC effect, but I'm just thinking that CBVG brings a lot more to the fight that CTR did and this will be a huge draw to recruits.
