They did some good stuff.

Apparently Karma keeps track of contrariness? After discussing 4 of their songs y'day, a fifth (Hippo Stomp) burrowed into my bottom brain and has been clamoring for attention ever since. Will not repost it now. Will not...

Apologies if I subvert. #sorrynotsorry

I forget how many of their songs had that bounce. Like some sort of ancestral heavy metal swamp boogie.

In case anybody's looking to kill 9 minutes and 20 seconds.

and many, many thanks for reminder/memory.

That one's not amongst my albums, so it's been a while.

I only ever owned (one of) the greatest hits album(s).

Any deep cuts you might recommend?

If that means something you're unlikely to have heard, no idea.

F'rinstance - This one on your album?

If I tried to articulate what a perfect and appreciated response you just provided, you wouldn't believe me.

Might have to spend some time thinking about my new list of favorite Steppenwolf tunes.

Not surprisingly (?), it didn't get much play time on the radio.*

Hah, indeed.

That one almost sounds like The Band wrote it while enjoying edgier mood enhancers. Maybe a little Big Brother and the Holding Company thrown in?

Aw, hell. It just sounds like Steppenwolf.

This is my absolute favorite band.  It's absolutely criminal they weren't bigger than they are.   New album coming from these guys soon.

This is about as close to a super group as you can get in hard rock/metal.   Jeff Scott Soto - Vocals, Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal on guitar, Billy Sheehan on Bass, Derek Sherinian on keyboard and Mike Portnoy on Drums.    SONS OF APOLLO

Two Dream Theater alumni. Consider my interest piqued.

Rob Halford is back with Judas Priest and a new album: FIREPOWER.  The first song released from it is LIGHTNING STRIKE.   This entire album is absolutely terrific if you are a fan of metal.

I cut my metal teeth on Painkiller. Awesome.

Do not overlook Billy Sheehan either.  He is one of the greats on bass.

That is the unfortunate side effect of being different and ahead of your time in music.  It is a sad world where real creativity and innovation are seldom rewarded, and things like Britney Spears become instant millionaires.

I hate to speak for everyone else, but here goes.

You’ll never get any complaints about posting Stapleton tunes here. ?

Not a Tune in any sense, but I'm not sure where else to put it.*

"92 Blues" is a consistently excellent source of Sunday-afternoon mood (2-5pm).Very broad playlist interlocuted by a very knowledgeable DJ at a local station down here..

If I've got this right, it can be streamed here:

[*and Admins/Mods (re: Board rule #11), please note that I have no commercial relationship with either the program or station]

I’ve come to confess a sin. About 6 months ago, I bought my me and my wife tickets to a Foo Fighter’s concert. I got caught up in the concert hype of the moment. The concert is going on right now. I’m currently sitting in my recliner watching tv, not at the ear piercing concert two hours away. I tried to get rid of my tickets, but even that effort was half hearted. It’s almost like I wanted to punish myself for buying the dang things to begin with.

I’ll take my lashings. I feel better now for confessing my musical sins.
