If you are going to buck the system, Buck the system. If Gus wanted to hire someone and didn't because of influence outside the football staff, then he has no control over the program. I read the earlier post about everyone has a boss but there comes a time when you hired a man to do a job. If he's not doing it fire him and get someone else. IMO Gus has made enough money at AU to make a decision and live with the fallout. If they fire him they pay a huge buyout. If he hits a home run well he hits a home run. JJ also did not do what he told Coach Marsh he would do to the S & D program and it was a major factor in Marsh leaving. I'm not sure if Marsh did get run off but at very least JJ made it a very easy choice for him to leave.
