Page Island Oyster Roast. One of the two best events of the year in my area. It's a fundraiser for a local effort to get kids out on kayaks put on by the foundation that owns this little island.

Thanks to that catch-all "other duties as assigned" nomenclature.

Isn't that the truth lol

Love love horse racing got hooked on it while living in Miami. We had racing year round down there.

Gulfstream Park, Calder Race Course and Hialeah Park. Hialeah was by far my favorite track

Yea the girls enjoyed themselves. I got hot towards the end and won 3 in a row.  So the last race I went with a 42-1 long shot.  Got up 70-1 at post.  That dang horse got me excited down the stretch.  Was charging but lost by a half a horse.

I also just missed a box trifecta, the sad part is I replaced the horse the wife picked with one we didn't pick.  Wouldn't you know it, all 3 horses we individually picked were the 3 places and she made sure to let me know I should have had hers in the box.  🤣

Keeneland Select is their betting app. You can watch along etc as well as others.  Gulfstream is a feed on it to bet on as well.  The others may be a well by I can only see who's racing at the moment.  Monday doesn't give a whole lot.

So we bet on the first 3 races there and left (youngest was cold)  and watched the rest (and bet) on the final half on the phone cast to the TV.  So much fun.  Can't wait to do it again.  We don't make high bets, just minimums.  Although we had a winner in 5 of 9 races.  But we just do it for the fun of it.  Winning a big trifecta would be nice though hehe.

Nope, I’m too quick for the authorities.  I’m like a cheetah.

Well, it’s been a crazy 24 hours. A tornado hit our neighborhood yesterday, damaging houses all around us with thrown trees. It was awesome and terrifying to witness. Thankfully no one was injured. Property can be fixed. I was floored at how quickly the neighborhood converged on the most damaged houses, quickly removing trees to tarp damaged roofs. More rain and storms were predicted last night and today. The tornado happened so quickly that the storm was never even warned as a severe thunderstorm. Proof that you can never, ever underestimate the power of nature.

The video was taken at a fire station about 1/2 mile from my house. It was over us when the video was taken

Glad you made it safe.  We just had a scare in Kentucky tonight around 9pm ET. By the grace of God it lost its tornadic signature as it got to us.  Like you said, developed suddenly and dropped an impromptu tornado near Louisville.  Not sure if my work place is still in tact in Shelbyville.  Find out in morning.  I live near Lexington.  Really wish I had a basement.  Lol

Update.  Work is still there. (Yay or boo, not sure which lol). Sign blown over which it was going to be replaced within the year anyways as our name changes.  We were sold in December.

Marmot? Groundhog? Gopher?

Glad you guys pulled through the storm okay. We were near Pigeon Forge and our cabin was way up on top of a "mountain" and the wind was nuts but nothing approaching tornados.

@Tiger Refuge, you guys good? Got power?

Crazy thing, we only lost power for a few hours. The folks across the street just got it back last night.

Groundhogs.  Heard from some true locals they are good eating 😆.  Not ready to go that route haha but they actually allow groundhog hunting year round because of the numbers.  We definitely have Moles as well.  They make trails in your yard and a real nuisance to get rid of.  With all the horse farms, plenty of real estate for these burrowing critters to roam.

I just wish it wouldn't kill the grass and make the ground soft underneath.  Good way to twist an ankle cutting grass.

I've heard they're good in the crockpot, too.  Can't confirm, lol.
