Hey, Eugene!

He should have told you not to stand there and do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING while Milroe drank some warm milk and ate a cookie while waiting for his receiver to push off!

The latter

Was concerned that running off CPM would run off Wade.

What, pray tell, is an "executive head coach for defense"?

What will Roberts next promotion be? "Crown prince of his royal majesty's defense"? "Baron of linebackers"? "Scion of safeties"? "Duke of the defensive line"? "Earl of Edge rushers"?

Great post!!!!

So did he leave of his own accord or was he dismissed as the thread title says?

Kinda misleading to me

Hugh's first offseason is going eerily similar to Bryan Harsin's first offseason here. Both coordinators gone, bring in your buddy that's been an analyst on offense to now be QB coach and possibly our OC (Kiesau for Harsin, Austin for Hugh).

Also, if McGriff's issue this year was with Ron Roberts and Hugh knew he would fire Roberts, then why didn't McGriff stay?

Things just seem wonky with this football program and why can our first year head coaches not get their coordinators right the first time? Hell, they can't get just one coordinator right, much less both. Two coaches in a row that both coordinators are gone after year 1. Seems as if Auburns brass struggles to find head coaches capable of making good hires and actually running a solid program.

Defense kept Auburn in most every game this season when it was predicted to be the weakness of the team.  This may be the right move if he was a problem but you can’t say he did a bad job.

Anyone but Kelly

Arnette has been mentioned. Don’t know if the two systems mesh very well (not that smart Lol), but he had good success for the 2years he was DC at MSU.

4th DC in 4 years.

New coordinator, new secondary, thin DL. Reasons for concern.

This year, we would have beaten our two main rivals if not for bad defensive breakdowns in the 4th quarter.  So I'm neither surprised or disappointed in this development.

WDE.

People need to chill with all the nonsense. If CHF keeps both coordinators he’s is wrong. Gets rid of them because they are not good the he is no better then potato head. Just can’t win

You forgot option C: pick the right coordinators the first time.

CK's defenses at FSU were ranked #9, #45, #29, #49  He's a good DC.  And he's an excellent recruiter.

Have you seen FSUs opponents? For 30 years it's been 1 tough season followed by 3 where they play MAYBE 2 teams that finish top 25. Jameis Winston and Miami perpetually sucking gave them a false sense of greatness. See Georgia debacle.

On the field in games, he mostly did a good job.  Off the field was another issue.  Lost us Crime to A&M and had he stayed, may have cost us Keionte Scott and perhaps one or two others.  We actually have the potential to fix the latter while being a wash or even an improvement on the former if things go right.

Florida is expected to hire Auburn defensive coordinator Ron Roberts as executive head coach for defense, co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach per 247Sports.

Liked what he did at times. Sometimes not so much. Nothing earth shattering about him leaving.

I think they beat us for their NC. Not sure if he was there then though. Kelly also coached  db’s along side Saban. Probably picked up something!!
