"Auburn’s A-Day game got started with a bang as two of the Tigers top targets committed before kickoff.

Toney chose Auburn over Tennessee.

Four-star linebacker Cameron Toney from Huntsville (Ala.) High and 3-star linebacker Jarrad Davis from Camden County in Kingsland, Ga., both committed to Auburn Saturday.

Toney, 6-foot-3 and 225 pounds, narrowed his list to Auburn and Tennessee before making a decision. He also considered offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt and Purdue.

“Committed to AU!!!! War Eagle!!!,” Toney tweeted.

Davis left his first visit to Auburn with the Tigers as his leader. All it took was one more trip for him to know Auburn was the perfect fit.

Davis, 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds, committed to Auburn over an offer from Tennessee and interest from a number of other schools.

Toney, who is rated the nation’s No. 12 inside linebacker and No. 242 overall prospect, had 119 tackles, eight sacks and three interceptions as a junior.

Toney and Davis are Auburn’s seventh and eighth commitments for the 2012 class and second and third linebackers joining Trey Johnson from Central Gwinnett in Lawrenceville, Ga.

Toney is the fourth commitment from the state of Alabama while Davis is the fourth from the state of Georgia."

I think it is a typo.  Here is an article from the AJC.  FWIW, I had mentioned a while back that the AJC recruiting reporter, Michael Carvell in this case, has really taken a UGA-bias this year and is particularly attacking Alabama and Auburn in any way he can because they have been getting a lot of high ranking Georgia hs players.  You will see that big time in this article where he makes it sound like Davis really wanted to go to Georgia (and would flip to UGA if he gets a chance) but settled on Auburn because UGA hasn't (yet) made him an offer and he is afraid they won't.

I've got a question about how the rankings work at this time of year for someone familiar with how the ranking sites operate.  Since numerous sites don't have Davis ranked, does that mean he has not been evaluated or that he has been evaluated and they didn't feel compelled to "rank" him.  War Eagle Jarrad!
