As a QB, I believe NM is the insurance plan. CGM still believes in KF, he just needs others with the necessary skill-set.

Time will tell but I respectfully disagree. I believe if Gus was truly confident in Kiehl he would not have offered a guy like Marshall who accumulated over 380 yards of offense per game and accounted for 38 TDs. Marshall only has to cut down his INTs to be a very good QB. Something Gus excels at.

I fully believe JJ will get redshirted. Rightfully so. I wouldnt count JW out yet I believe he will be on the field somewhere QB or not. He has to much fight in him. I also believe we redshirt JSmith.

QB was not an automatic for Smith....no reason not to move him to WR or something to get him on the field if he is good enough. JMO but JJ could use a year to physically develop and learn the O ...and be ready for a couple years (or more) at the helm.

Oh I agree about Smith at WR, I just think we'll redshirt him.

Marshall is a good pick up because he is a great athlete. It doesn't matter if he is at QB or in the secondary he has the ability to help the team. Fraizer has nothing to do with it.

I agree. Keihl has game experience that Gus can review to see what might help his development but the past seasons performance requires giving the offense more options at quarterback.

If Frazier is hot then maybe have Marshall on DB rotation and sub him in if needed, if Marshall wins the starting job on QB then good for him too. Like a backup specialist or something.

He may be ready to play, but Gus will have Reed and Bray playing in his spot and maybe Grant as well. Louis, Coates and Denson are all there as well. I think we will see improvement from all of our wide receivers in Gus' offense, which most of these guys were all committed to when they were being recruited. Not concerned with our depth there, Smith could be a special teams demon and that could be a factor in not red shirting.

That's my entire point! We already have talent at those positions. Redshirt Smith and let him learn system and beef up a tad and have him for 4 years instead of wasting it on a handful of plays.

People need to stop thinking Kiehl Frazier is going to amount to something. From an athletic standpoint JWall is a bit quicker than Frazier and trades off for some weight but I saw him the other day and he is getting big (look for him to play around 210-220 with summer workouts) and he is the same height (Stood next to my 6'4 friend and he was a solid 6'3). Frazier has a slightly better arm but JWall with better mechanics will get there.

Most importantly Jonathan Wallace can tell the difference in colors of jerseys (read as can read a defense) and is confident. Wallace is a gamer and going to be something special in the mold of D Craig.

Just because Frazier was highly recruited everyone wants to jump on his jock and start while we have a diamond in the rough with Wallace. It is Deangelo Benton all over again

I still like what Gus is doing with the JUCO players. We need immediate help at just about every position. Bringing in guys who have that winning attitude, good work ethic, and have shown they can play ball is a great way to change the mindset and encourage higher levels of competition. If this guy cannot win the QB battle I at least hope he pushes our other QB's to be better and helps clear their head of the abuse from last season!

You don't bring in a juco guy who averages 380 yards of total offense a game, accounted for 38 TDs plus had yards per attempt and yards per completion averages in juco that would have put him in the top 5 in NCAA if you are not going to give him every chance to be the starter
