Probably saw how much of an ungrateful fanbase the Auburn Family is on Twitter and changed his mind 🤷🏻‍♂️

He might have seen MAR playing pretty darn good, although against backups.

Four-star RB Armoni Goodwin backs off Auburn pledge

hvz2n1rhzy8hf5ncs57x

Trussville (Ala.) Hewitt-Trussville four-star running back Armoni Goodwin has de-committed from Auburn and re-opened his recruitment.

Goodwin committed to Auburn, who he referenced as his "dream school" in May 2019, so he was committed to the Tigers for just over a year and a half.

He has been saying "solid" when asked about his commitment status up until November 30 when he released this statement via Twitter.

Goodwin now plans to wait and sign in February. He is going to take his time and evaluate his options.

As of tonight, there are five schools in the mix.

"Auburn is not out of it," Goodwin said. "I have a top five of LSU, Florida State, Georgia, Alabama and Auburn.”

He said there is no top school at this time.

Look for more guys to decommit after last Saturday's game. Heck, who could blame him or others. If I had a son who was being recruited, I wouldn't want him to play for Gus Malzahn. Good look to Armoni.

Like any other young kid, he most likely wants to play for an SEC who has the best chance of playing for the SEC Championship and National Championship. Auburn will play for either with Gus Malzahn coaching this team.

Hopefully this starts the wheels of change turning and Gustav gets handed his pink slip...

It's funny how Gus puts all his eggs in one basket in recruiting. He did just that with Goodwin. Now Armoni is gone other 4 & 5 star RB commits to Tennessee, Georgia and ECT. Another smart move on GM's part.

No worries. I heard there is a transfer from Idaho we lead for. And a JUCO back coming off of ACL surgery who grew up in Peru and has only played football for 3 months. War Damn Gus!

That 5* going to ETC is gonna win some Heismans, beast!

Reading the replies here, and it’s disturbing. In no way is Goodwin’s decommitment, getting the h@ll beat out of us by uga & uat, struggling to keep recruits, repeating the same inept play calling, owing Gus too much money to buy out... None of it is humorous.
If your loyalty is truly to Auburn, you don’t laugh this debacle of a situation off to “oh well, c’est la vie, we suck, let’s look for another head coach. I’m behind the players on our team as well as our current commitments 100%!  How do you feel if your those guys?  While it’s patently clear that a lot has to change to get us back to prominence, this isn’t the way to address it.

Yeah because our responses really control the mess we are in.
