A lot has changed in a short time. And it's not really about the OL. And it's not really "negatives floating around about Gus". It's that Gus has done a piss poor job of coaching and getting this team ready for games this season. It's not stuff around him. It's him.

@steeleagleWhere in the Sam Hill does this question come from? He's one of the best RBs in the country & despite being on the short side he is very thickly built & runs very strong.

@McLoofusThe negative recruiting has played a major part. Yes that stems from Gus's flaws but it's factor is undeniable.

It doesn't look like you understood my question. I never said anything about Armoni's measurements. I think he is a really goo back.

I asked if he got soured on GUs and the current state of his program and his poor OL play in recent years?

Don't know about this but, could he have decommitted because we were recruiting another back??? Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question, but maybe it was promised that we would only recruit one? don't know but it's a thought. 🤷‍♂️

This recruiting class was weak and going to close very poorly before the recent de-commitments. I personally don't see Goodwin possibly moving on as a negative, other then the general optics of losing a 4* prospect. Auburn doesn't need anymore 5'7" - 5'8" sub 200 LB RBs. They simply aren't big enough to run between the tackles and I have ZERO worries of bammer seriously recruiting him.

I would take a chance on a big RB and there is one about 30 minutes outside Auburn. Central Phenix City has a 5'11" 220 LB RB that clearly has P5 talent, runs hard, has surprising speed, follows blocks well and move well on his feet for his size. I know LSU has taken a serious look at him.

This was the biggest shocker (by a mile) of the Monday trifecta. Goodwin grew up an Auburn fan, he is extremely close to Carnell Williams, he committed to the Tigers a year and a half ago — and he just upped and de-committed. Not many, if any, saw this one coming.

Florida State did offer recently, and we know he has been in communication with LSU consistently as well, so there are some schools to keep an eye on, but we definitely cannot rule out Goodwin going back to Auburn.

That would be the safe choice. He is comfortable with the staff, he likes the Auburn offense for his skill-set, and the Tigers still want him, but the other Tigers may have a little momentum based on our intel. LSU is in this, and the two have had serious conversations in recent weeks, and although the LSU numbers are tight, there could be some movement there we are told.

Also, Goodwin is now saying he is leaning towards signing in February, so that gives LSU and other schools more time to recruit him and figure out the numbers.

Alabama and Georgia are two other schools Goodwin lists in his new top five.

What a load of crap. Trent Richardson was 5'9 and all he did was bowl through defenses straight up the middle.

The only thing that matters is FRAME. Frame - NOT height. Being 1-3 inches taller doesn't magically make anyone more capable of running up the middle. There are 5'8 running backs who possess a wider and more robust frame than 5'10 running backs. This kid is built very stocky, there is no reason to believe that he can't run up the middle in college - the NFL is literally littered with backs who are "only" 5'8/5'9.

LSU is the defending national champion. FSU has a relatively new coach who can sell building the program. Regardless of message board chatter, there's plenty of angst in the program, and there are a lot of reasons other schools can bring up that point toward the end being near for Gus. That's the difference.
