Jeff Dunham is actually to blame.

It's "Hillary is diabetic/had a stroke" all over again.

All the while Trump was hugging and kissing an American flag and whispering “I love you, baby” to it just a week or so ago.

A guy that rawdogs porn stars having his way with the flag is deeply disconcerting. Just because it can't say no doesn't imply consent!

Yep, and the same folks spreading it and falling for it.

It's funny that Bernie's bros would deny it when Bernie's national press secretary is RTing an account literally dubbed "JOE BIDEN HAS DEMENTIA"

Isn’t it amazing for folks to only express concern over Biden’s mental facilities ?

Isn't it amazing, with only three candidates, that people actually talk about issues concerning the candidates.

Yeah, but the lion's share of the focus is only going to be on one guy.

Isn’t amazing that folks are more concerned about the behavior of a candidate than more troubling signs of decline by the actual president?

If you read it, listen to all of the clips too.

Is this a real issue and if so, is it a real concern to others?

It is a huge issue and should be a concern. Biden has always been known for some gaffes, but now he is at times in full blown rambling mode. One thing for certain, cognitive abilities don’t improve with age so if he is decline now what does that look like in 3-4 years.

I'm not sure the incessant need to bring Trump into this thread. No one has supported him or defended him here. There is a valid question about Biden. Discuss that and stop deflecting.

Bird, here is a wee gift for you.  There is more than just Cognitive Decline.  Whether you care for Medi Hasan or no, he makes some very valid points here

It's relevant though with the pivot to the general likely to occur this evening.

And there will be a very heavily coordinated campaign ramping to question Biden's mental state very soon. Greenwald is just getting a head start. Take it with a grain of salt.

Why do you think that will happen? Do you think that it's a problem? Do you think it a fair criticism?

Without an aging decline, I have questioned trump’s mental fitness from the very beginning. And terrified at the excuses he gets from his supporters.. Biden is slipping but I’m still gonna vote for him. With this said both parties suck. We seem to nominate some of the most questionable candidates when we have a whole bunch of good ones.

They're going to attack him for something. Might as well be this. As already posted, they straight up invented some BS about Clinton's health. And that's going to go every direction this cycle. They're all old guys. Mental health and health in general will be discussed.

Compared to the other options? Not really. Especially not compared to the guy who's been proving for a very long time that he's not mentally fit for the job.

Again, it's fair to question the mental state of all the candidates.

As for bringing Trump into this, it's a necessary part of the discussion. We're all in a "least of 3 evils" predicament at this point, except really it's just 2. Biden is going to be the Democratic candidate, so there's no point in worrying about whether or not he's mentally fit to be POTUS. The question now is- and it's a rhetorical one- is he more mentally fit than King Orange Jackass.

Except we're not discussing Trump's mental state/capacity. That's been discussed ad nauseum for almost 4 years. I was trying to get others opinions on Biden's. I know how pretty much everyone here feels about Trump's.

I mean, you're not, but you haven't discussed Biden's, either. What are your thoughts?

My thoughts exactly. Joe strikes me as humble enough to know he's not the smartest guy in the room at all times, and he'll weigh evidence from experts in the relevant fields with necessary deliberation before acting. Not so with 45, who's an expert at whatever is going on around him at the time.

Trump thinks he may have 'a natural ability' to address viral outbreaks

"You know, my uncle was a great person. He was at MIT. He taught at MIT for, I think, like a record number of years. He was a great super genius. Dr. John Trump. I like this stuff. I really get it. People are surprised that I understand it. Every one of these doctors said, 'How do you know so much about this? ' Maybe I have a natural ability. Maybe I should have done that instead of running for president."

There was a valid question about Reagan's mental health also.

But to Dub's point, Reagan had the sense to appoint people who were expert in matters he knew little about.  Can't say the same about Trump.

And bringing up Trump for the sake of comparison is hardly a "deflection" when you consider the election will be a choice between the two.

Except, the OP was an article solely about Biden. There wasn't an attempt to compare the two. It's not about Trump. We all understand him and his deficiencies. I'm trying to discuss Biden and his.

Biden makes gaffes.  He's not the smartest or sharpest guy in the Democratic pantheon.  He's probably not the very best person to be the next POTUS.

But you could say that about almost any other candidate that is going to win the nomination.

Bottom line, he's not my first choice but he is greatly preferred over a narcissistic, psychopathic, con man whose only success has been as a reality TV host.

Biden will surround himself with competent people.  We already know what Trump has done.

Why are you so curious about people's opinions on Biden's mental health? What is the purpose?

Also, you don't seem to be trying to discuss anything other than dictating the terms of the conversation you want other people to have.

Well, they are comparing him to a "very stable genius".

He said so.
