Frazier was the USA Today national offensive player of the year, and there is nothing to indicate that he didn't deserve that honor. If he's even a bit of all that, he'll be the starter.

Hard to answer this question. I don't know what his offense will be. He has stated himself that he uses a bit of everything and will have a customized offense that best suits this Auburn team.

Tend to agree (with Mikey, I think) that it's probably KF's to lose. Here's hoping the light comes on for him some time in the next couple months.

The offense will be worked to match whichever QB wins the job and their skill set. Loeffler doesn't have the luxury of running "his offense" and finding a QB to fit it.

All that being said, I think we'll see Kiehl as the starter. Mosely looked great in spells last year and horrid in others. I just don't think he's going to be our guy. I hate it for him--hard working, great attitude but there's just something holding him back.

Mosely had an opportunity to win the job last season. Most kids would kill for that chance.

My point is he did nothing with it. I grasp the fact that he had a chance last year...

Would it be fair to draw comparisons between Kiehl Frazier and former LSU qb Jordan Jefferson or maybe Kodi Burns when he was our Qb or neither?

Neither. There's nothing to suggest he's anything like the other two, other than mobile.

Not a knock on the dude, but I just don't see Mosely being the QB for ANY SEC school. Too much ground to make up from 2A ball with very limited experience. The team is still pretty young, if Auburn is going to have a 'learn on the job' type of QB, why not go with the guy that has a very promising skillset and potential. What was Mosely's most impressive outing? Against Ole Miss? Ehhh...That being said, Chris Todd was catching more heat than anybody and he turned it around with a new OC and an offseason.

Maybe Cam Newton, Frazier is ahead of where Cam was after his freshman year.

I got so much hate for saying I saw Kiehl with the potential to be like Cam because he is similar. I was just going off what the coaches (Malzahn and Chizik) said and fans of our own team said I was crazy. Glad I am not the only one that sees this. I am just a positive thinker I guess.

It's one thing to say you see similarities between KF and Cam, but it's a totally different thing to say, "Kiehl Frazier is the next Cam Newton".

I don't know what your opinion was specifically, but if "the next Cam Newton" is 1) alive, 2) in college and 3) playing football for Auburn, then we are truly the luckiest sports fans to have ever lived.

Wow, I don't see ANY similarity between Cam and Frazier but I do notice some similarity between Kiehl and Dameyune Craig.

Wonder why the coaches would say that KF reminded them of Cam then?

If we're swinging for the fences on QB comparisons, I thought Frazier looked more like a poor man's Tebow than Newton. Tebow and Frazier were pure specialists as true freshmen. Frazier struggled more passing the ball, but he also had far fewer opportunities. As a runner, Frazier had success per carry and decent Attempts per TD ratio, but both are a step below what Tebow did as a Freshman.

Certainly Kiehl and Cam both struggled throwing the ball as freshmen, but Cam never showed Keihl's issues with decision making and turnovers. As a runner, Cam looked special from the word go. As a freshman, he scored a TD every 5 or 6 attempts. Tebow was around 12 attempts. Frazier was around 25 attempts/TD. For the record, Tebow's number stayed basically the same. Cam's "ballooned" to 13 attempts/TD at Auburn. Tebow's worst season as a runner (2008) boasted a TD every 15-16 attempts. Bottom line, Frazier looks to be a notch below either of these guys as a runner, but his freshman performance looks a little closer to Tebow (and his measurables do too). Even Kodi Burns had more success as a freshman runner (54 carries with 3 TDs and a similar ypc).

I don't really have any way to answer the poll question because I have no idea what Keihl Frazier is. Is he Kodi Burns (decent runner and below average passer)? Maybe. Is he Tebow (great runner and decent passer)? Maybe. Is he Cam Newton (great runner and above average to very good passer)? Again, maybe but this will take the most growth. We just don't know. Until I see enough of him or the coaches pass on him, I can't predict anything about his fit in a particular offense. Clint has obvious flaws, but he's the most known quantity in the race.

Why would the coaches say that? Easy answer: coaches are lazy analysts when it comes to dealing with the media. Comparisons are always a little lazy since it allows the watcher to avoid actually breaking down every facet of the player's game, but in this case, the outgoing athletic QB being compared to the incoming athletic QB? Extra lazy with the added bonus of getting your fans excited.

At this point in time Frazier resembles Cam a lot more than he resembles Jordan Jefferson or Kodi Burns, which is the point I was trying to get across. (See post #9 in this thread for clarification)

I don't think we have enough of a sample size to accurately judge KF's ability as a passer. Didn't he have what, 12 passes all year?

Edit: yes, he was 5/12 http://www.cfbstats.com/2011/team/37/passing/index.html

Ya, I have no idea who will fit the system.. or what the system will be... the best. I do know we didn't see much of Frazier throwing and against better competition he got picked multiple times.

I was under the impression that CM threw 2 picks in 1 game, maybe multiple times. Maybe I'm thinking of 2 pick 6's , in 2 different games?

I hope the coaches are right in their comparisons because that is quite a burden to bear if your Kiehl. Big shoes to fill that is.. I Am All In Though. War Eagle.
