Cam should play at Auburn.  He is a coaches kid, he is smart, an amazing athlete, and he would bring more than just his athletics to the team.  He would be a leader on and off the field and would do a lot more than his star-rating suggests.

It would be a shame to lose out on him.

I am hoping for the same. I do not agree with the line of thinking that we don't have room, he's better off at a bigger track school, etc. I believe that he ends up at AU and I don't believe that it's only because his dad coaches here. He has the cred, imo. Kid can play and seems to have his head on straight.

I bet he has a "silent offer".

Ok I just watched his video on youtube.  Are we saying that we don't have room for a 6 ft 185lb athlete that runs a 4.34?  He looked pretty touch in that video and I would love to have him in this class.  Plus he is probably more responsible for RF committing to AU than people give him credit for.  We should sign him just to make sure his dad stays put for the next 4 years.

If he was someone who no one on the D1 level wanted, then I would be suspect as to getting him.  However, he has offers from several good schools.  I would like to see him in O&B.

Why would you be disappointed?  Are coaches not supposed to follow the process they have in place?  You want them to act emotionally and take a coach's son instead of taking the highest person on the board at each position?  CL is very talented, no doubt about it.  AU just has other kids higher on their board at this point is what I gather from everything I've read.

I understand what you are saying. Just because a staff has "higher kids rated on their board" doesn't mean they get those kids.

That is true about VH, but what chance does USF have of winning a Championship? Big difference, IMO, in a USF and an Auburn. But you are right about Luper may not want to play at Auburn. I would just like for him to have the opportunity to decide if he wants to accept a scholarship form us. That is all I am saying.

Our coaches know their stuff and I'm just a fan, so I don't dispute their rankings. Discussion in the Luper household may be about it being good to get away from home - who knows? I just think he's the kind of kid we need at Auburn.

Now that we are getting near the scholly limit we have to be alot more selective. we can't just take someone because they like auburn. We are in a new territory, now we have depth at almost all positions. we are crossing over from a top 25 team to a top 10 team. This is a great postion to be in.

we need to be going after kids that are going to play not end up 2nd string their whole career. Their is alot of serious talent already on the plains and we are going after top tier talent. we are recruiting in the top ten every year not the top twenty five. A team that is recruiting just outside the top 25 is still getting players that have talent just not as much talent as the top teams. We are trying to be one of those top teams every year.

I think Cam Luper is a great kid and a talented football Player. The Sec is stacked with great talented players that never even get to play because the level of competition is so great. People keep wanting him to come to Auburn and I have no problem with that. I just don't see it as a good fit for him for many reasons and I will leave it at that.

Did anyone else notice that Cameron and Reuben were the two recruits chosen to escort Green on his visit to AU this weekend? I wonder of this mean Cameron will be an AU tiger?
