Steele was the beneficiary of exceptional recruiting on the defensive line and it finally all graduated. Think back to 2016...we had freaking Carl Lawson, Marlon Davidson, Montravius Adams, and Dontravius Russell as starters. 2017 we had Jeff Holland, Russell, Derrick Brown, and Marlon. Exceptional talent. Last year we still had Derrick and Marlon. This year none of our 4 starters would start for any of our major rivals or any upper echelon sec school. Steele's regression is 100% talent related. Hes not terrible, but he was no defensive mastermind to begin with.
