I got wings for me and a buddy yesterday I think i will get some stone crab claws today. Can I get anything again today for anyone? I don't mind stopping. If this keeps up I will be in rehab before New Years. You cant say I don't Love Auburn.

I’ll take a 12 pack of PBR and a large order of medium Buffalo wings with extra ranch. Much appreciated.

This would’ve gotten out by now if that was the case. Somebody definitely would’ve talked

Hell Gus would have leaked it. No reason for him to be loyal if they told him that

You shouldn't speak on things you don't know. He absolutely told him not to train with the NFL guy

Darn those pesky facts!!!

How hilarious is the Nick Marshall stuff?

This is what happens when the political board pointless argue types and they come of the football part. Used to pointless stats to try to prove something. Like his NFL player thing that Gus has sent to the NFL.....didn't think at all about transfers....what do we have like 3 kickers in the NFL?

Gus is the offensive genius right? Let's look QB, wr, and oline. Let's focus on what we are really saying but not add the kickers and the long snapper to try to skew stuff

Prospects with good options want to know who their head coach is going to be. Gus is very well liked by recruits and by recruits families.  We agree that it is past time for our administration to make a call....one way or the other.  They are damaging the football program's future no matter who the head coach is by not doing so.

Was just wondering if this is how you came up with your screen name...

That was something that just mystified me and still does. A huge % of his incomplete/interceptions were overthrows due to his : Strong arm and high release point when he threw off of his back foot. If Hugh Freeze coaches Marshall? Heisman winner

I meant ‘said something’ not acted on something.

No I haven’t seen anyone say anything. Only thinly close is people saying there is movement which can mean anything.

I'm kinda going with WDE being told that he was let go.  Despite typically being a reliable source, WDE wasn't sold on it though assumingly until it actually happens.  It may be earlier in this thread.  I would think things would get out, but it was just a thought process I had.  Guess I've been following the wrestling shock and awe storylines to close lately lol. Sting Returns!! Haha.

1. Bingo on the pointless argue types. Literally here now because he has to just argue with people.

2. Two wide receivers on that list. One of them is Duke Williams- hah!- and the other one got drafted 3 rounds too low because he was stuck in Gus's garbage ass offense.

Again the point is our recruiting overall is significantly worse than any previous year of his tenure. The reason is clear. Our administration has our head coach in limbo. We have many players in the NFL BTW.

But most of them were never highly rated. At least 15 on current rosters are free agent signings and most Auburn players drafted have been on the defensive or ST side of the ball.

The key point is we have not been successful enough or developed them enough to put them in a top grade draft status.

There is no doubt SocialCircle is a good guy and means well, even if sometimes he uses some misguided logic in his argument, so this is not personal, but I had to put him on ignore. This is temporary but I am not going to waste my time reading his posts concerning Gus because outside of winning a NC next year, I am done...Just done....Recruiting is suffering because HS coaches are seeing players leave who they know had talent but were never developed/seeing players stuck in a HS offense and not being prepared to maximize their potential. Negative recruiting? Why wouldn't there be negative recruiting? The evidence is in plain sight every Saturday. Seeing is believing and truth is not negative recruiting

And AU is in the top 10 for getting players into the league as of right now. Thanks again for proving my point.

That doesn't mean anything. 17 of those players were signed as Free Agents, so they basically sold themselves onto NFL rosters.

As someone else posted, we have had only 3 Auburn offensive players drafted in the first 2 rounds since Gus was coach. That tells us something about his offensive success AND development. It has not been projected into getting his players drafted very high.

I never much wanted to use ignore but I won’t lie , I’ve finally bit the bullet. Not because I can’t engage or like others opinion , but when it gets to the point when you are just being ignorant or trolling, I can’t anymore.

I appreciate you thoughtfully laying all of this out. I agree this topic is full of nuance and should be treated as such.

I think it's absolutely fair to want to know if he's a changed man. However, I think whether or not his family life has improved is based on a handful of individuals who have nothing to do with football so I don't see the relevance. If he's forgiven or not does not really have anything to do with whether or not he's a changed man.

I pretty much agree to most of what you said. To me, bottom line is more about is he still a preachy guy during the day but hiring escorts at night? That to me that is the key to everything else you said because of the phoniness and hypocrisy and how that can be basis for undoing within a college football program. Players, their families, and coaches respect honesty and transparency and that part is what worries me more than how his family life has changed. If he's hiring hookers on his own time and from his own phones that's fine just don't make it a scandal and certainly don't act like he's above that type of behavior. Ya don't need to advertise it but don't be pretending to be something else.

I think we agree on why the hire could fail but we are just drawing the vetting line at different places. Again, I appreciate you explaining your thoughts further in an organized fashion

I think we probably mostly agree on all of this, but again, it's almost too nuanced of a conversation to have over this format. As always, I appreciate your thoughts as well.

Wed AM: No new news on my end. Some big dogs say the plan is to look at the situation after Miss State. Still not hearing it from the biggest players at AU though. So...for now...I’m still in the crowd that thinks he’s ours for another year.

Also, Big Ten is changing rules on the fly to allow OSU to play in championship game, presumably at 6-0, to cash their ticket to the playoff. This furthers the idea that some have, that this year is so crazy (a team making it to the playoffs with only 6 games played) that 2020 shouldn’t matter at all.

Others within the athletic department are mindful of the b-ball situation in all of this, and are not sure the upheaval over the football head coach would be beneficial to the university (again in these economic times). For example, if further sanctions occur for b-ball, do we want both sports in limbo?

just passing on what I know. Don’t gaslight me.

Thanks for the info but some of that line of thinking is just silly.

Gus offered advice and it was wise as for the NFL Nick was better suited for another position. Nick got better as a QB and as a thrower at Auburn. Nick could train or not train with whoever he wanted to after he left AU.

Its ok to claim ignorance on something

And he got better as a QB his second year at AU. Gus he is only guy who gave Marshall a shot at being a QB in the SEC. Nick could get training from anyone after he left AU.

I too appreciate any info, but agree that the issues with basketball and football shouldn't effect either one based on the current state of these programs. We are still entrenched with a quality coach in basketball regardless of what NCAA does to the program.

Football is still the big dog, and it looks, as you say, the PTB can use the Covid as a fall back along with the loss of so much athletic revenue to kick it down the road for next year.

Now if we lose to State, then this could tip it to a program sliding downhill for sure with the PTB feeling they have to make the change....

It's definitely a 2020 type of issue.
