***Auburn vs. Mercer -- Game Thread***

So the offense was breaking records with sacks allowed last game.  Are they trying to set a record for turnovers in this game?

1. Undisciplined on offense and special teams.  We don't do the little things right.  Across the spectrum, this is indicative of poor coaching and a lack of leadership.

2. Poor play calling.  Completing 5 yard passes against a soft zone  from.a high school level team is no accomplishment.  Complete failure on WRs and their grossly unqualified WR coach.  How they get off the line, initial move, route tree, adjusting routes for zone vs man coverage, etc., all bad.

3. Offensive Line blocking schemes do not adjust to the defense.  We supposedly have the talent to impose our will on teams, yet Coach Hand seems like a buddy hire from Gus.  Our line has clearly regressed since Grimes was here.

4. Head coach looks and sounds like he is mentally slow.  He embarrasses me almost as much as Jay Jacobs, although I'm ashamed of Jacobs after the softball fiasco.  Gus is a system coach who has completely abandoned his own system of a few years ago.  

We will probably win this game, but Mercer has a shot.  I'd gladly fire the entire offensive staff during post-game interviews and let Tubs and Borges assemble an interim staff on the offensive side.

On an earlier thread today, I advised against make knee jerk coaching changes and instead change out the AD right away and then make more calculated coaching moves after the first of the year.  But at this point, I would support them escorting Gus off the field right now and making Kevin Steele interim HC.

I tried to have a positive mindset towards this week... Between this and these past years how can you possibly find a reason that this team will turn things around? Even the most determined sunshine pumpers...I need to know.
