Maybe change the thread title to “It’s not Freeze” 🤷🏽‍♂️…and maybe this anti-freeze rhetoric will go away. He was not offered, he is not coming, Cohen himself said any candidate would be subject to a thorough background check, so even if it was Freeze, Auburn would have found out about his HS high jinks, the DM’s, the truth about the hookers, pay for play, overdue library books etc. Have you guys forgot about Rich and how compliant he is? Auburn is not going to put itself in a situation like Michigan St, Penn St, Baylor etc. so the Never Freezers can rest easy. With that said people can find redemption and change, so I will not speak in absolutes about the type of man he is today. The reason I don’t want him as coach here is simple, I still don’t view him as a championship level coach, and somewhat just Gus with a more effective passing game. We need better here.

I mean I just think it’s kinda funny you guys are falling over yourselves to justify hiring a man who has had allegations of wrongdoing or impropriety at pretty much every stop. Why? Forgiveness this or forgiveness that. Who cares. Why are you struggling to hire him? Is winning football worth that to you? The risks aren’t necessary there are other people to hire if we weren’t crap at it.

That’s the thing u just answered ur own question. They are allegations. So everytime someone accuses u of something u automatic guilty. When things become concrete then u can reevaluate. Yes he has some baggage no one is disputing that. For example his time in high school has been used as a hiring requirement. I am not sure how old Freeze is but that’s probably 40 years ago. I would bet if u could get a full disclosure of what every candidate did during their high school years people would be raising eyebrows left and right

The man sent a DM to a Liberty student he did not know, one of over 20 complainants in Title IX legal action against the university, basically to tell her she should shut up. You cannot have that kind of bad judgment, and bad morals, in a university. A huge strike three.

AND IT WAS THIS SUMMER.

If Liberty had any kind of integrity, which it obviously does not, he would have been disciplined severely. If I did something like that, I’d be fired in a minute—and I have tenure.

I thought this to myself but it makes sense. Liberty is rehab for coaches.  I never dug into everything that happened but I think Briles and the player who were accused of sexual misconduct at Baylor were later cleared of wrong doing?  If true that’s better than Auburn’s potential new hire.
