I guess a moral objection these days is a foreign concept to some.

"Win at all costs! It's the only thing that matters!"

I have a cost. So be it. You all may continue your down voting now.

I can remember when Nicky Satan was coaching my Dolphins. He literally walked over a player that was having a seizure, having 0 regard for his well being. I guarantee 99% of us would have forgiven that if he had become our HC. That being the case, I can forgive a man that likes to get his fancy tickled every once in a while....

I never said "step up".  I have consistently argued for Auburn to pursue excellence, and to hire a coach who will build a juggernaut, not bounce us off the bottom into mediocrity.

You’re right. It was @aucom96. You replied to my reply to him, and I didn’t notice.

Have you never made a mistake in your life? Were you forgiven for it?

Forgiveness doesn't mean I let a recovering alcoholic run the liquor store.

Are you saying the Auburn football program is a bordello?

I get it. Y'all want to win. Seriously I do understand that. I do too.

But not with him. I do not want him molding young men on out sidelines.

I hope he crashes and burns faster than Harsin did should he become our coach.

This is the second time you want him to crash and burn.  So for that to happen, AUburn would crash and burn over the next couple of years.  And you are pulling for that.  Nice fan.

Caddy beat a team with the #1 recruiting class and an experienced $100M championship HC as well as a decent WKU and probably should’ve beaten Miss State. Certainly played them down to the wire on the road.

He may not have any history but whatever he’s doing actually hasn’t been a disaster especially compared to “seasoned” veterans.

To be fair, almost everyone has done that this year

My point is prior success is no indicator of future success. A lack of history doesn’t guarantee future failure.

But I’d cut out football before supporting a Freeze led Auburn so I’m certainly in the minority I’m sure.

 Caddy > Freeze

He beat a 4 and 7 team. Period

Gonna cut out football over hiring Freeze eh? Noted.

Caddy is no doubt one my fave players of all time. His love for Auburn is unmatched BUT he is not in the same stratosphere with Freeze when it comes to coaching! I think you're letting emotional ties cloud your sanity.

Saban wouldn’t have been successful at Auburn. He would’ve butted heads with the fans and boosters, and would’ve darted to another school.  Auburn fans would never have put up with his sideline antics.

Well I'll just speak for myself then. 6 Nattys in that span, I can overlook sideline antics and whatnot.

Know how bad this looks if one national media outlet picks that up?

Our prospective head coach DMing a plaintiff in a sexual assault lawsuit at effing midnight?

People can change, yeah, but sometimes you have to believe who they are when they tell you the first time.

He's not worth it, people.

Our of curiosity....and an unwillingness to search through your post history...what was your stance on hiring Lane Kiffin?

Ambivalent,  but on board because he's one of the few people in this conference who still knows how to innovate offensively.

And I know what you're trying to do and will already put it out there that their crimes are not commensurate.

I think this happened over the summer or maybe last spring.  He obviously doesn't get it.  He's not coming to Auburn and all the sudden be fixed.

Uh huh....keep telling yourself that. LK filling up the AL Coeds with Freshwater isn't that different from HF paying a professional to spill his.  All I'm saying... let's keep our morals consistent. If sexual deviancy is where you draw your line in the sand....then make sure the line stays.

I’m going to back you on this one. I also wasn’t hot on Kiffin at first because of his behavior at UT and USC. Had to do some digging, and he appears to have legitimately grown up. Still a kid in some ways, but not the turd muffin he was 10 years ago. I could’ve gotten on board with Kiffin.

What freeze has done is worse, and he’s still getting into trouble. They aren’t comparable. If we make this hire, I’m going to have a hard time supporting Auburn football. I’m going to do it, but I’m going to feel dirty about it.

I can hear and see the national media now: "Auburn hires Freeze, the coach that resulted in Ole Miss forfeiting 30+ wins, let go as coach due to contact escorts, and currently involved in potential messaging of sexual assault victim."

Assuming that's what was happening on Freeze's end. Good bet the escort service was for the kids.

Plus, again, sliding into the DMs of sexual assault lawsuit plaintiff at nearly midnight.

No Bueno. Perfect fit for Liberty though. They love their hypocrites.

Being immature and being a jerk on occasion is a lot different than outright cheating on your job and using school resources to cheat on your wife. There really isn’t any comparison to Kiffins antics and Freeze’s bad decisions.

Im 100% with you. This would be a disaster for AU perception and reputation wise.

it’ll be very easy for opposing teams to negatively recruit AU under freeze. If I was a coach at UGA or Bama I’d be pointing out Freeze’s history to every recruits mama and daddy, and I’d be like “would you trust your son to a man who conducts himself like that? What do you think he’ll allow his players to get away with?”

I sincerely hope AU is looking at other options for coach.
