Which Former Coach(es) Would You Take Back?

With Dameyune Craig back on the market, which former coaches would you take back over the current coaches that we have on staff?

For me, it’s primarily defensive coaches. I don’t know how good or bad our coaches really are because of the level of talent that they were working with this year?

FWIW - I would NOT take back Dameyune Craig. He’s only good for recruiting and Marcus Davis seems to be handling that quite well.

Defensive Coordinator

Will Muschamp

Kevin Steele

DL
Rodney Garner

LB

Travis Williams

I'm not sure you continue to take so many alumni back. I mean some on staff, yes. Not sure I would overload on alumni

RB

If Carnell leaves Auburn and I hope he doesn't, I would take back Curtis Luper in a heartbeat. Killed it at Auburn, TCU, and now Mizzouri in recruiting and coaching.

LB

I feel now and have always felt Joe Whitt Sr has been the best ever LB coach in football period. It upset me greatly when he stepped down. I realize his age is a factor but if the man breathes he can coach great LBers. Find a helper to recruit if you need to.

I thought about Price and agree he was a good one. Hilliard is an interesting one that I wouldn't have expected. What puts him on the list for you?

Wayne Hall

Frank Orgel

Joe Whitt

Bobby Wallace

James Daniel(Heck of a O Line Coach)

Gene Lorendo(but he would probably run about half the players into the portal today).

And that's just my short list....I'm kind of old school so...

Let’s get Rick Trickett back. Decent o line coach but nobody can out cuss him.

Half my ass think more on the line on 80% I roomed with Max his son at Sewell Hall for a short time. He was a wild one himself. I will say Gene was a very good coach and could play the bama game of recruiting with the best of them.

Frank Orgel and I share a hometown. He has a road there named after him.

Did he pass away? I know he had ALS.

I don't think so, but not sure. Maybe someone else on the board knows.

Great OC!!

Yes , also was fired for cause so Arkansas board basically had to vote to override a precedent they set. Desperate times indeed.

I think he pretty much how to forego any legal action on the future or something to that extent. A lot of litigation. To me it’s a way to get Sam out and Bobby back as HC.
