Well it was the most underwhelming group outside of the QB play. Not surprised Freeze could clean house there with the F4 coming in.

The heavy DL on this list matches up with what you have all been saying

It was apparent to me last year after watching teams run a basic halfback dive up the middle for 5 yards a pop that our front 7 (particularly the interior) was not up to snuff. That's not a coaching or scheme issue but a personnel problem.

Jayson Jones is a massive human being but he just can't seem to drop his anchor and instead gets put on skates.

Don’t see it.  JH is slow out of the blocks.  Fast once in the open but that doesn’t happen much unless you’re playing Vandy.   Cobb looks to be very versatile and it would be real bad to lose him.

I don't want to lose Cobb either but JH is a very good back. He's not slow "out of the blocks" or otherwise. I mean come on, he was 2nd team all-sec while missing games...

6.6 YPC as a starter.

The RB room is our best offensive room with JH/Alston/Cobb.

I would argue Cobb is a better option in the passing game IMO

No intel just reading the tea leaves I would guess that we land this guy soon. Transfers often don’t waste time with a whole lot of visits and want to get with their next program to try and play catch-up. The interior of the defense line is an easier spot to learn for sure but Auburn and Blidi both would like for this to be over sooner rather than later.

Alston by a lot. Damari is the best back on the roster.

Which, these days, is the only game that matters.

If I had to guess the staff’s evaluation of the backs right now from articles and some things that have been shared with me:

1. Jarquez

2. Cobb

3. Alston

4. Battie

I think years of eligibility left, ability as a receiver, and just preferences in build play a part in Cobb being viewed more favorably than Alston currently. This is coming from a running backs coach who actually was really high on Alston out of high school.

Any updates on Keyron Crawford or Nyjalik Kelly? 247 seems to think those are two Edge targets that we're high on.

Massive asking price

I'd look towards the CSU WR as more of an option.

This is feeling inevitable. I am told the staff prioritized him out of the portal targets.

I’m not complaining about a solid Edge pickup, but that is our best position on the DL.   We really need a couple of interior guys.   And because everyone else does too, that’s where our NIL $ needs to go.

MODS:  We have a Transfer Portal Thread in the Football Forum, and in the Recruiting Forum.

Do you think they need to be combined?

He is not that good, and he is not going to get what he wants.
